*The trail is easily passable well before the last snow melts.
The dates below represent the first day you could ascend the
peak via the Barr Trail without touching ANY snow!

2018 - June 4th (and Manitou has been on fire and has water restrictions)

2016 - July 5th
2015 - August 5th (May broke the all-time any-month rain record from 1935.)
2014 - June 28th
2013 - June 26th
2012 - May 31st (and the forest fires about 3 weeks later closed the Barr Trail)
2011 - June 28th
2010 - July 4th
2009 - July 19th
2008 - June 25th
2007 - July 12th
2006 - May 26th

(Exactly two months later)

The May picture was taken just a few days
after a record snowstorm that dumped a
reported 5 feet of snow at Barr Camp. I got
2 feet in my driveway — what a workout!

I was thinking it would never melt but just two
months later it was all but gone. This started
my quest to track the Barr Trail snow free date.
